okay i'll take a look at getting some more info on it. It was just an idea that i was thinking about, as i wasn't sure how good it would look.

There's plenty of cases of webbing and gear painted and otherwise modified by pathfinders, particularly in the 82nd. Michel de Trez's books "American Warriors" and "At The Point of No Return" have some good examples.

Point taken from this...a minority of specialist troops were the only ones who did it. As much as I appreciate that if you want to portray a pathfinder then you go ahead...but as far as I know none of the other people with Airborne loadouts have painted their gear and I wouldn't recommend it.
That might seem quite hypocritical...but I would never do what I did to the M41 to any of my Airborne gear.

I can understand that. I've never portrayed a pathfinder so neither would I have paint come near my gear, mud and general grime however is an entirely different matter, bring it on in that case!

Looking cool, Imp. I button my Zeltbahn up when wearing it as a smock - helps it hang better. Start with the long edge towards you, fold the side edges in, fold the tip of the triangle down towards you, and button up the sides - remembering to allow space for your arms to go through!
Edit - a picture says 1000 words... I always keep mine buttoned up, and you can fold and roll it like this too.

You've got pretty much everything there - I do have an E-tool, but I don't carry it, cos it's too heavy!

I really like the Zelt-as-camo-smock look - it still allows you to show off your Feldgrau to a certain extent, especially the cuff title!

It is a bit of an added bonus. I will at some point get an Oak B camo smock, but I'm loving the zelt look. £27 from Sue. I am waiting on a gasmask tin, shirt and other bits and then I declare the kit complete. My Fally kit will be finished hopefully tomorrow.
